Congratulations to Conor Buckley, Co-Op Chairman on his outstanding achievement of being honoured as Cork Person of the year for 2009. Conor received his award from the President of Ireland, Mary McAleese, at a ceremony in Cork last Friday 21st January. Conor accepted the award on behalf of “every member of the Co-Op” and went on to say in his acceptance speech, “It is the people who are members of the Co-Op and put up the money to purchase the ferry that are to be highly commended.”

The Julia left Ringaskiddy port on Sunday 31st January for Swansea where she will undergo various surveys and safety certifications as well as going into dry dock for a hull survey and a cleaning and antifouling treatment on the hull as well.
