17 Days after the flood
Here we find ourselves 17 days after that awful night that has left a beautiful Hotel in complete darkness and without its heart and soul which are the people. The definition in my book of a Hotel is all about people, the front line service providers and those who frequent it for business or leisure.
Progress report - The owners are working around the clock on the restoration of the hotel - sourcing materials and manufacturers. The clean-up is well and truly on-going with all floors and walls stripped back to their original state. Water can do untold damage travelling up walls and into every conceivable crevice. The architects, electricians, heating and plumbing technicians are also working flat out. Christmas is around the corner and some of the companies are closed for holidays which is working against us at the moment. We will have more credible time lines by the end of this week.

DavidI feel for you guys down there. Hope it all gets sorted faster and cheaper than you guys expect. Let us know when it reopens as we'd love to spend another night or two in the hotel. |
